Charleston’s Museum Mile and the Charleston Museum Mile Weekend
Charleston’s Museum Mile in historic downtown Charleston features the richest concentration of cultural site open to visitors in downtown Charleston. While walking the one mile section of Meeting Street you will explore six museums, five nationally important houses, four scenic parks, and well as numerous historic churches and public buildings including City Hall and the Market. Most of the sites charge admission.
Sites you will visit for you take the Charleston’s Museum Mile are: Aiken-Rhett House, The Charleston Museum, Charleston’s Museum of the Lowcountry, Joseph Manigault House, Washington Light Infantry, Confederate Museum, The Powder Magazine, Gibbes Museum of Art, Old Slave Museum, South Carolina Historical Society, Postal Museum, Hayward-Washington House, Nathaniel Russell House, The Exchange and Provost Dungeon, and the Edmondston-Alston House. The Charleston Museum Mile Weekend is September 25th and 26th on this weekend you can get a single pass to allow admission to all thirteen sites along Museum Mile. The Weekend pass is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
